Where Should We Photograph Your Dog?

When I first moved to Murrieta, California, I was so taken by the pretty rolling hills and the wildflower fields. There is an abundance of beautiful locations in our town, yet when we're talking about a portrait session for a dog, the world is our oyster!

Fields

Fields abound in Murrieta.  So far, we still have some room to roam and taking your dog to an open field allows me to capture beautiful backgrounds such as the hills to the west.  In the spring, we are often blessed with flowers blooming in many places in Murrieta.

Gardens

Believe it or not, a simple garden makes a great framing opportunity for your dog's portrait.  Your own garden or ones in neighborhoods make for a simple session without too much fuss.  I'm able to frame your pup's beautiful face among the flowers or greenery for a print-worthy shot!

Parks

It goes without saying that Murrieta has an abundance of parks.  I don't mean sports parks.   Those such as Sykes Ranch Park, Bear Valley Park or Glen Arbor Park are all perfect for getting those images that look like your dog was in a forest, not a local park.

Deciding On a Location

The best way to get the best outcome is to consider these points:

  1. Is your dog nervous around loud noises? Some parks are near busy streets
  2. Does your dog do well with strange dogs? A dog park like Glen Arbor may not be the best choice
  3. What colors are in your home? Choosing a location with a color in the background that accentuates those in your home is a win-win!
  4. What color is your dog? The images I create for you can be subtle, such as tone on tone with a beige dog amongst similar grasses in a field, or a gray dog posed along a gray field of stones.

I've Got You Covered!

Don't worry if you aren't certain of the best location to have your dog's portrait done. That is one of my specialties. I have scoped out this city for the best locations for the past several years. We will find the perfect spot, I promise. And don't forget that we can always do a home session if your dog is unable to travel or has high amounts of anxiety in a public place.
